Job Description

Desired skills:

• 3.5 - 5 years of experience in Java Development with sound knowledge of core Java concepts.
• Strong hands-on experience with developing web applications using Servlets, JSP and Web Services. Knowledge of Spring and Hibernate would be an added advantage.
• Extensive working experience on Java script, JQuery and any of the JS libraries like backbone, knockout etc.
• Comfortable use of Linux/Unix.
• Good communication and organization skills.
• Willingness to work within a team, as well as independently.
• Willingness to learn new technologies.
• Ability to pick up new technology initiatives to raise the level of overall development practices

Job Responsibilities:

• Write production quality code in Java, J2EE, Spring, Jquery and Javascript.
• Adhere to software development and source control processes. Git would be an added advantage.
• Design, build, configure, test, and document production quality software on an iterative basis.
• Participate in design and implementation of new software.
• Work closely with users, technical leads, project managers, and other cross-functional development teams.
• Execute on the provided design. Active coding in key technologies is required for this development position and includes: Java/J2EE, Tomcat, Web Services, REST, and spring, Hibernate/Ibatis, XML, UNIX and Oracle.
• As part of the software development process, you will need to create, review, and maintain all required technical documentation related to the assigned software to ensure supportability and reuse.
• Must develop software using disciplined software development processes, adhering to team/company standards and software best practice guidelines, as well as corporate policies.

Project/Team:

• Active contributor to discussions and brainstorming sessions.
• The Webonise team works in an agile environment, and team members are responsible for participating in project planning sessions to analyze development requirements, provide design options, and provide work breakdown and estimates of work.
• Provides timely status updates for areas of individual responsibilities within projects to the lead and manager of the project.
• Actively participates in daily team standup meetings.
• Delivers software per the agile iteration schedule.
