About Startup Labs

We are a product development (labs) startup based out of Jaipur, Rajasthan. We develop products for our clients (startups) as well as for our own ideas. We have been working with several startups across the globe and have developed several products over the last five years.

Some of the products that we have built: Feedback Loop, Munchie, WaySpa, Boffter

 

This is a core team member position with high visibility and responsibility with avenues of non-linear high career growth potential.

 

What you will be doing (roles and responsibilities)

1. Understand the business domain the product deals with and develop empathy with the end users of the product (will involve interacting with them).

2. With insights from the above, iteratively, architect and develop

2. Minimum-Viable-Product 2

3. Minimum-Viable-Product 3

4. Release 1

so on and so forth…

    3. Where each iteration involves evolving each part viz.

1. Data models

2. Backend app architecture (including test writing)

3. App Features

4. APIs

5. Frontend (including test writing)

1. HTML/CSS - intermediate to basic

2. JS - awesome to intermediate

6. Data points and User behavior analytics

7. Split test, Multi-variate test.

    4. Iterate quickly and test again.

 

Required Skills and Qualities

1. Startup mindset.

2. DEEP understanding of HTTP, secure, async, decoupled, distributed, scalable web.

3. You have done several mid to major sized web apps with Python and Django.

4. Python, Django, SQL, NoSQL - Self assessed expertise level 7 on 10, at the least *

5. HTML/CSS - Self assessed expertise level 4 on 10 at the least *

6. Javascript/JQuery - Self assessed expertise level 5 on 10 at the least *

7. You test your code, rigorously.

8. You are a honest, humble person with high integrity.

Desired Skills and Qualities

1. You are awesome at HTML/CSS/Javascript too

2. A little bit of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.

3. Big+ if you are ready for a pre-job seven day paid work with us. We get to know each other well.

4. A degree in Engineering

5. Whether or not you sleep at night is directly proportional to whether you’ve made something thrilled or pissed off that day.

 

Expertise Vs Experience (no. of years in the industry)

We believe no. of years of experience is NOT directly proportional to Expertise !! We have seen freshers or dropouts (Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, Larry Page, Mark Zuckerberg) outdoing all the experience summed up together in the world, haven’t we? Do we need more evidence?
