Business development expert for a math startup

MathHarbor.com , Bangalore · mathharbor.com · Freelance or consulting · Business/Management

MathHarbor is working towards becoming the hub for computational mathematics and statistics. We've deployed a cloud-based platform for easily getting started, and working on numerical models without worrying about expensive licenses or maintaing servers - physical or virtual. We're also working on video courses which cover using open-source modeling tools for all sorts of disciplines - like astrophysics, bioinformatics, geology, among others. We also happen to be a part of the Morpheus Gang.

We're looking for somebody who knows how to crack tough sales deals, to work with us on getting universities and other higher educational institutes onto our modeling platform. You'll be talking to top-notch math professors and researchers, as well as HODs, and helping MathHarbor create lasting relationships with academia.

You must:

  • Have some liking for math and science! That is pretty important. If you don't like math, you won't like us.
  • Be able to get after a lead's life to push a deal through.
  • Be ethical about every deal they do.
  • Have decent technical grounding. Of course, if you join us, we will bring you up to speed with how we're making a math nerd's life easier :)

Compensation

The idea here is to have an incentive-based system - every deal you push through earns you a sizable chunk of what we earn, from the deal. A ballpark figure of 10%, but that's negotiable, based on your experience and our financial projections - a typical deal would be worth a high-end six-figure value in Indian rupees, so you get an idea of what 10% would be like. In a few months, we can look at fixed compensation measures, as well as equity options, based on your experiences and plans.

Job Perks

We'll figure that out, to your liking.
