Here’s a few more things we’re looking for:

• We’re looking for Generalizing Specialists. Almost everyone on our team here has a broad set of skills in both web and mobile development. We don’t expect you to know all this upfront - but what we’re looking for is an openness to work in an environment that will require you to keep learning new skills and sharpening your existing skills everyday.

• We have a very high level of transparency across the company - open dashboards that radiate the health of each project in the company to everyone, all the time. So, you’d need to be comfortable working in such an environment.

• We don’t have project managers or leads telling you what to do. Instead we believe in collective responsibility and ownership. So, that means, your job is much more than writing code. You’re responsible for making the project a success - just like everyone else on the team.

Experience: 0-4 years

Mandatory: Web Application Development experience. More specifically, this includes all of the following:

• Very good OO skills

• Good HTML, CSS and Javascript skills

• A high level of comfort in at least one web framework

• A good architectural understanding of the what and why of web services

• Good English speaking and writing skills

• A strong desire to work in a small organization (we’re 20+ at this point)

• A high level of personal integrity

• Compassion and empathy for your team mates

Preferred: The more you can check off in the following list, the better are your chances. The more experience you have, the more items we’d expect you to be able to check off.

• Familiarity of SOLID principles and the GoF design patterns

• Mobile Application Development experience (iOS/Android/Windows)

• A deep interest in software engineering – especially agile development methodologies (Scrum/XP/Kanban/Lean)

• Open Source Contributions

• A strong passion for creating great user experiences

• A deep interest in startups – and what makes them tick (Bonus points for awareness of Lean Startups)

• A deep interest in the non functional aspects of software – especially performance and security

• A deep interest in the product development lifecycle

• An obsession for automating anything that’s repetitive
