Software Engineer (Full stack/Computer Vision/AI/Video Technology)

Vectorly , Bengaluru · vectorly.io · Full-time employment · Programming

About us:

Vectorly is a new deep-tech startup from MIT. Our patented 'vectorization' technology compresses videos by up to 50x while improving video quality.

https://vectorly.io/docs/technology/

We work with video platforms to improve video delivery on slow networks, and to significantly reduce CDN costs, and have had interest from Cisco, Microsoft, Samsung, Twitch, YouTube and others.

We have a small, but highly skilled team of MIT & IIT alumni, and are based out of Bangalore and New York.

Our company was launched in 2018, and we just raised $500K from US investors, including the CTO of Hulu, and the Chief Architect of AWS's video-compression arm.

What we are looking for:

We are an online video compression + delivery service to help video-platforms compress and deliver online video over the cloud, using our patented technology.

We are looking for an early-stage software engineer with a strong background in full-stack web development to help us accelerate the development of our video product (https://dashboard.vectorly.io/signup). This would involve taking over some parts of our existing web stack, and working with our team to implement new product features.

Our stack is built using:
* Angular for our frontend Dashboard
* NodeJS + MongoDB for the backend
* Python for our computer vision / compression
* Servers are hosted on Kubernetes / Docker, on Google Cloud

Experience with deploying production web applications is a must. Experience with any of the technologies in our stack is a plus, but definitely not necessary.

As our first non-founder hire, we are looking for strong general engineering skills - such as writing robust, well documented code, ability to work independently to deploy standalone working applications, and the ability to pick up new technologies quickly.

Experience with early stage startups is a strong plus.

Why us:

Let's be honest - the tech is kind of cool: https://vectorly.io/docs/technology/

Credibility: We have a US patent, and our core team includes PhDs and graduates from MIT & IIT. We've already raised over $500K from investors in the US in our pre-seed, including personal investments from the CTO of Hulu, and the Chief Architect of AWS Elemental.

We are engineers - Don’t bother with management BS from guys who don’t know how to code. We are engineers, and we understand what it takes to build and deploy apps.

We’re making real impact - We’re not building AirBnB for dogs or another gaming app. We’re building genuinely new, innovative video technology, which will most likely get into the hands of billions of people.

Get in on the ground floor: We’re still early stage, so on top of competitive salaries, we can also provide early-stage equity in a fast-growing, global startup.
