Backend Engineer

About the Company:

At The Creator Co, our mission is to develop next-generation consumer brands that simplify lives for millennial women in South East Asia. We create brands that address consumer needs with relevant social media influencers across beauty, baby and child care. We are a venture-funded company currently in stealth mode. The team comprises of people who have studied at Harvard Business School, Indian Institute of Technology & BITS and have experience at organizations such as Amazon, Google, YouTube and leading venture-funded startups in India.

Responsibilities:

• Take end-to-end ownership of backend architecture and further build, scale and maintain products
• Building architecture for analytics tools facilitating social listening, information tracking, product research and competitive analysis
• Building architecture for user-facing e-commerce product applications & features
• Integration of user-facing elements developed by front-end developers with server-side logic
• Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute ideas to our technology, algorithms and products
• Work with the product and design teams to understand end-user requirements, formulate use cases, and then translate that into a pragmatic and effective technical solution
• Active cross-team coordination would be expected

Desired skills, qualifications and attitude:

• 3+ Years of experience in software development and full product life-cycles
• Understanding of basic data structures & algorithms, relational databases, RESTful web services and have good working knowledge of SQL or NoSQL
• Solid OOP and software design knowledge – you should know how to create software that’s extensible, reusable and meets desired architectural objectives. Good understanding of fundamental design principles
• Integration of multiple data sources and databases into one system
• Deploying and managing apps and instances on AWS/Google Cloud/Heroku.
• Knowing at least one dynamic language among NodeJS & Python
• Ability to build a feature from scratch & drive it to completion
• A willingness to learn new technology, whatever lets you deliver the best product
• Good to have - Past experience working on e-commerce products
