We have now launched The Better India Shop (shop.thebetterindia.com) to help millions of small & medium enterprises get access to large consumer markets. This is a marketplace that connects enterprises making great products with consumers seeking better alternatives in their purchases. And yes, every purchase makes an impact.

We are looking for a Chief Technology Officer for our Bangalore office.

As CTO at the The Better India, Bangalore, you will
1. Build and manage a tech team that is able to align with business objectives
2. Design and develop the overall architecture and core components for our e-commerce offering - consumer-facing as well as for partner sellers and for internal teams
3. Define and implement data flow/interactions across various business components
4. Prototype new ideas
5. Do code reviews, be responsible for the delivery of the features/tasks at the highest quality within the committed timelines.

Our ideal colleague will be
1. A professional with 8 to 12 years’ experience in building consumer internet/mobile products - preferably from scratch to large-scale.
2. A strong hands-on developer with ability to work across technology stacks
3. An expert on any one of the following NodeJS/Python//Go Language, along with MySQL/PostgreSQL, NOSQL DB, REST API integrations, Cloud compute.
4. A seasoned practitioner of SCRUM/AGILE methodologies with a strong experimentation mindset
5. Extremely proactive and ready to take initiative and run with new ideas
6. An exceptional communicator with superlative written and oral communications skills, creativity, and attention to detail
