About this Position

You are expected to build scalable, maintainable & customizable web infrastructure for Teletext Holidays.

You will be working along-side other engineers and developers working on different layers of the infrastructure. Therefore, commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and creating quality products is essential. At Teletext Holidays, we follow a combined engineering model: Development engineer is also responsible for software test engineering.

Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable, highly available, responsive & beautiful web applications for teletext holidays.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
• Work with outside data sources and API’s
• Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability.
• Work on bug fixing and improving application performance.
• Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency.

Qualifications

• BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject
• Proven software development experience (5+ years)
• Experience with Bootstrap, CSS, JQuery, Javascript HTML5, cross-browser compat etc. (3-5 years)
• Knowledge of Object Oriented programming
• Knowledge of how to develop for responsive design and common OS/browser combinations
• Solid experience with deploying, maintaining, troubleshooting web apps.
• Working knowledge of MySQL storages
• Deep functional knowledge or hands on design experience with Web Services (REST, SOAP, etc ..) is needed to be successful in this position
• Experience with SEO is a plus
• Experience with PHP development is a plus
• Zeal to experiment with/evaluate various different open source technologies
