Data Product Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

• Investigate and evaluate the potential for new products
• Primary ownership for writing technical specifications, development and maintenance of your product
• Develop programs to extract and manipulate data from wide varieties of sources including scraping websites, data streams and/or APIs
• Work with data analysts/data scientists to refine the resulting data
• Analyze data to derive insights
• Contribute to the internal libraries used across products

Requirements:

• 2+ years of hands-on experience with Python
•  1+ years of hands-on experience with any web scraping tools such as Scrapy, BeautifulSoup, Selenium, cURL, Kapow, Mozenda
• Experience with distributed systems handling data at scale
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases
• Should have used an asynchronous processing system (Celery, etc.)
• Experience with XML, JSON, and Proto-buffers
• BecomfortableinfindingyourwayaroundaLinuxserver

The candidate should be a quick learner and should be up to date with current technology trends. Bonus points if you have side projects or open source contributions. You should love working with huge datasets.
