"I hate HR" / "HR is so boring" - don't worry, this isn't what we think! This is what most employees in any organisation think about HR. We're determined to change this perception. Our goal is to give HR teams the credit they deserve by empowering them with tools that help create a big impact in their organisation. sumHR is a SaaS based new-age product which handles the mundane processes for HR teams, reduces paperwork for managers and improves engagement for employees. While doing all this, our ML algorithms will power an AI engine which helps management teams take informed decisions for the future of their organisation.

WHERE HAVE WE REACHED SO FAR? 

Despite a relatively basic product offering, we have already achieved significant growth with hundreds of companies across India using sumHR to manage thousands of employees' HR lifecycle. Hence, recently we have raised our first round of funding to revamp, reimagine and re-envision our HRMS product and build it from a 'global perspective'.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR? 

We are looking for someone to fit the role of our senior-most technical decision maker, a person who will be responsible for delivering the product, driving the infrastructural development and hire+manage the Tech Team.
Whoever fits the bill, will get to:

  • Own key technological and architectural decisions 
  • Work with the founders to scale the company up to global level
  • Develop the product’s infrastructure grounds-up and take responsibility for deployment+delivery of a very technical product
  • Hire, manage and set the culture of a tech-team of multi-departmental developers and engineers
  • Be at the forefront of the #hrtech revolution and make a big impact to the future of HR tech

ARE YOU THE ONE WE'RE LOOKING FOR? (see if you match, below)
Technically speaking, you are/have:

  • 6+ years of total experience across technology roles
  • Experience in building & scaling multi-tenant SaaS products
  • Expertise in JavaScript and PostgreSQL (bonus points for working expertise in NodeJS & ReactJS)
  • Equally comfortable working on back-end and front-end environments
  • Excellent knowledge of SQL scripting and PostgreSQL database administration.
  • Strength in systems architecture & infrastructure, especially on AWS 
  • Experience building complex distributed systems requiring high availability, scalability, and enterprise level privacy. 
  • Strong working knowledge of micro-service architecture and RESTful APIs.
  • Expertise in search platform (using Elasticsearch or Apache Solr) and cache management (using Redis or Memcached)
  • Bonus points if: experience working on desktop apps (for Windows, Linux & Mac and Mobile Apps, native Android & iOS)

        On Leadership front, you have:

        • Built and/or led a team before, and you're comfortable being responsible for the welfare and development of other engineers
        • Managed a tech project, knowing when to apply appropriate project management strategies and aligning a team around an objective, deadline, launch/release
        • Be obsessive about delivering new tech and value to users+customers of the product
        • Comfortable explaining tech products and systems to non-techie/unrelated parties

        From Product perspective, in the past you have:

        • Delivered product to market, ideally in a B2B context
        • Engaged in the product development process in prior roles
        • Experience of knowing when to push for the perfect solution versus a simpler way to move product development forward
        • Interest in tracking how the software is being used and keep on top of key technical and user metrics
