Junior IT Automation Engineer (1-3 Years Experience)

About the Role

We are seeking a Junior IT Automation Engineer to help build intelligent, automated solutions that enhance IT operations, optimize workflows, and drive AI-powered insights. This role is ideal for someone with 1-3 years of experience in automation, cloud infrastructure, and AI-driven technologies. You’ll work closely with our engineering and IT teams to streamline operations using scripting, APIs, and cloud services while exploring how LLMs (Large Language Models), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and AI can improve efficiency.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop automation scripts using Python or JavaScript (Node.js) to simplify IT workflows and system processes.
  • Integrate APIs across IT and cloud platforms to enable seamless data exchange and workflow automation.
  • Work with AI-driven insights, using LLMs, RAG, and other AI models to improve decision-making in IT operations.
  • Assist with cloud infrastructure management on AWS (Lambda, EC2, S3, CloudWatch, API Gateway, etc.).
  • Implement basic Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles using Terraform or CloudFormation to support scalable cloud operations.
  • Analyze system data, logs, and performance metrics to identify trends and recommend automation opportunities.
  • Support IT automation initiatives across a SaaS-heavy environment using tools like Google Workspace, Okta, Slack.
  • Work with containerized environments (Docker) and contribute to maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers to troubleshoot issues, refine automation strategies, and improve system reliability.
  • Document best practices and processes, contributing to internal knowledge bases for automation and AI insights.

What We’re Looking For

  • 1-3 years of experience in IT automation, scripting, or cloud engineering.
  • Strong coding skills in Python or JavaScript (Node.js) for automation.
  • Experience working with APIs to automate integrations and workflows.
  • Exposure to AI technologies, including LLMs, RAG, and AI-powered data analytics.
  • Familiarity with AWS services (Lambda, EC2, S3, API Gateway, etc.).
  • Understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) concepts and tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Experience with version control systems (Git, GitHub).
  • Knowledge of automation in a SaaS-first IT environment (Google Workspace, Okta, Slack, etc.).
  • Strong analytical mindset with an eagerness to learn and experiment with AI-driven automation.
  • Solid communication skills and the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Bonus Skills (Nice to Have)

  • Hands-on experience with AI-powered monitoring tools (Splunk, Datadog, New Relic).
  • Exposure to Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, OpsGenie).
  • Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
