Full-stack (MEAN) Developer for an Urban Water Platform for Smart Cities

SmartTerra (www.smartterra.io) is developing an urban data platform to help cities and communities manage their water and sewage services.  SmartTerra is specifically being developed for the unique water and sewage context in cities in India and the developing world, where a data platform's affordability, simplicity and accessibility are paramount.

SmartTerra is about sustainability - both environmental and financial. We believe we have the model to be a profitable environmental startup. And our ambitions are to build a platform which can be deployed across hundreds of cities and other developing countries.

About the position

SmartTerra needs a Full-stack developer to build out the urban data platform. The developer would ideally:

- Extremely strong in JavaScript and experienced in the MEAN stack (MongoDB, Express, Angular/React, Node.js)

- Have full-stack experience in building web apps hosted on AWS/Heroku/Azure

- Preferably have some experience with data visualization tools such as D3/HighCharts/Ember and mapping/GIS technologies like Leaflet or Google Maps API

- Experienced in building REST APIs. Preferably for mobile apps. 

- Experienced with working in distributed teams - project planning, documentation, code versioning in GIT, etc.

We want you to care about the environment and the quality of urban life. We want you to look at real world problems such as water being brought in tankers,  lakes polluted with sewage, leaking municipal pipes, municipal water every few days and that too only for an hour, and we want you to step up and vow to bring your considerable technical skills to FIX IT. 

We do not care about an engineering degree (or lack of) or experience in a large company (or lack of). We want a passionate do-er who cares about his/her code and works with great independence and drive.

You will be considered for co-founder status. You can choose to work remotely or work out of a co-working space in Bangalore.
