Frontend/Fullstack - Make AI work for India's urban water challenges

SmartTerra , Bangalore, Hyderabad · smartterra.io · Short-term contract · Programming

SmartTerra is a THub-Hyderabad incubated startup building an AI-enabled product to revolutionize urban water management in India. We are currently running funded pilots in two cities near Hyderabad.

Our product digitalizes O&M workflows in water distribution, integrates meters/sensors with our IoT modules and applies data-analytics and machine learning to get rid of wastages and inefficiencies. Indian cities struggle with water and wastewater management because there are no municipal-scale high-technology products for the Indian context. Here is a recent founder interview for context: Link

You will be responsible for a front-end that intuitively presents insights as well as a front-end for the data gathering.

You need to be

  • Strong in JavaScript and experienced with Angular/React with Node.js/Express in an AWS environment
  • Have some experience with data visualization tools such as D3/HighCharts/Ember and mapping/GIS technologies like Leaflet or Google Maps API
  • Preferably some experience in streaming-data analytics and/or machine learning middleware
  • Experience building and delivering large-scale, data-driven, visually-rich web applications
Have participated in a full product development lifecycle from spec to launch
  • We would love it if you fervently want to solve India's complex environmental problems and will understand a municipal water operator's perspective to make high-technology accessible and affordable. We want a passionate do-er who takes pride in his/her code, works with great independence and has a sense of total ownership.

This is a short-term contract only as the begining of a journey. We want you learn, grow and join us full-time as a part of the founding engineering team.
