Backend engineer

We are looking for a proficient backend engineer at SHEROES. The ideal candidate should have experience with development & deployment of server endpoints, REST based APIs including all server-side logics, definition, interaction and maintenance of databases, and ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from various client end-points (mobile & web apps). A basic understanding of front-end technologies would be an added advantage as it would help troubleshoot issues in integrating the endpoints.

Responsibilities

1. Designing the server side architecture including selecting the right technologies that can scale and cater to the business requirements.
2. Development of REST API endpoints with all the required business logic, based on the product requirements for all client endpoints (initially mobile applications).
3. Ensuring high availability and reliability of all the endpoints and jobs at all times.
4. Implementing all the security best practices to ensure all the business data stays secure
5. Have proficient knowledge in using a version control system like Git.
6. Reviewing code of peers and collaborating to give feedback from time to time.

Requirements

1. Minimum 2 years of experience as a backend engineer in a reputed software company
2. Must be a great team player with a hustling mentality and a get-work-done attitude.
3. Strong knowledge of fundamentals in Computer Science like OOP, data structures and algorithms.
4. Excellent coding skills. Should be fluent in at least 1 object oriented programming language and be able to convert product requirements to code with ease.
5. Writing good unit tests & integration tests with reasonable code coverage is a big plus.
6. Experience with multithreading and asynchronous programming
7. Experience in writing backend applications involving REST APIs and relational databases.
8. Love for your bash shell is a must-have. Basic experience in DevOps is a big plus i.e some experience in SSH, bash scripting for tasks like ETL, cron etc.
