At School of Future, our mission is to “future-proof” students. We want to solve the massive problem of education in India and enable ALL kids to be ready for an uncertain future, armed with tools and skills that will guide them throughout their lives. Our unique distribution channel - a tech platform that delivers future of work skills to students and brings together micro-communities to enable the students to practice these skills in a safe environment - allows us to scale up efficiently and quickly. We have been running pilots with a few schools in the past three months. Based on feedback, we are building a beta product and working towards a stable version by February.

• Provide exposure to 21st-century skills, both soft skills, and hard skills in a manner that allows kids to become familiar with these tools.
• Enable the child to build a strong sense of self, practice entrepreneurship, and collaborate with their peers.

We’re building a strong founding team for this venture and are looking for a full-stack engineer to join us and own the product with us as a founding partner. We are looking for someone who thinks audaciously, has grown exponentially, is irritated by this problem, and can skill up and scale themselves to lead tech from scratch. We want to find people who are attached to the problem that we are solving and not to the solutions that we build to solve it.

Here are some hard challenges that you will work on -

• Build a platform where children are easily able to access 21st-century skills in an engaging, playful way (think of it as a duolingo for skills)
• Design systems that allow kids to feel a part of the community and to build a sense of self by developing a visible portfolio.
• Personalise the learning of each child based on their abilities and preferences by allowing machine to learn about their hopes, dreams, aspirations, fears, career goals, etc

Within the first 3 months of operation, we have built a prototype for the skill of emotional intelligence and are hand-crafting the product with 8 schools. We have been able to find 20+ students trailblazers from across Delhi using nothing other than word-of-mouth and basic Instagram advertising. In a year, we will be working with over 30,000 students and 5,000 student trailblazers.

You will work with a small focused team (2 full-timers, 1 part-time, 1 intern, and an army of advisors & mentors) with audacity, grit, and unimaginable amounts of freedom. We are excited to work relentlessly on this problem with you and tackle big challenges as we encounter them, always solving for scale and quality.

Responsibilities:

• Enhance our prototype further and reiterate quickly based on feedback and data
• Build our product from 0.1 to 1 while planning for scale of 1 to 10
• Identify and troubleshoot technical problems
• Perform in the fast-paced startup environment with rapidly evolving needs and ambiguity

Requirements:

• 3+ years experience of building products as a full stack engineer familiar with agile product development
• Excited to build the product from scratch with us - if coding for hours on end is not your thing - don’t apply :)
• Crazy level of passion for this problem and drive to solve it at scale
• Executor + Willing to go the extra mile.
• Classroom experience/tutoring (preferred)

Logistics:

• Location: NCR (for now) - You have to be willing to relocate with SoF as we will follow our market!
• Joining Date: ASAP
• Compensation: Solid equity + In-hand salary (assume a cut of 40 - 60% of your salary). The cash compensation + value of stock will increase considerably with next round of funding → evaluate us on the fact that will the money in your bank account grow quicker than the stock value of our company! You will be an early founding member in the team who would add a lot of strategic value in the future and lead several functions for the organisation.
