DevOps Monitoring Engineer

Reputation.com is looking for someone who likes working with engineering team to monitor all aspects of a production website. Someone who loves to fix the problem once and make the solution repeatable through automation. Wants to be the first one to know when there are issues. This is an exciting opportunity to work at a startup with some leading-edge technology like MongoDB, ElasticSearch, and AWS. This DevOps position is a hybrid role focusing on monitoring as well as providing “follow the sun” siteops support for our production website. This is for someone who likes to do programming and has a passion for developing monitoring so that we are alerted to a problem before the customer or the engineering teams see it. There is lot of collaborative working in the engineering team and plenty of opportunities to grow

Requirements

• Experience with setting up a comprehensive monitoring system
• Proficiency in writing scripts in Python or Bash
• Experience doing basic systems administration
• Understanding of how to maintain security in a cloud environment
• Ability to work with minimal direction. Likes to take control and drive.
• Mindset of documenting as you go
• SiteOps experience maintaining a production website
• Experience with AWS or some other cloud provider
• Previous work experience of 3 - 5 years in a similar role

Desired Skills

• Mindset of using automated detection to increase productivity and setting up monitoring so the same problem does not reoccur undetected
• SiteOps experience maintaining a production website
• Experience with AWS or some other cloud provider
• Experience with Git version control
• Experience with creating content for knowledge bases
• Experience administering MongoDB, RabbitMQ, Redis, Postgres.
• Experience with Nagios, New Relic, and ansible a plus!
