The Service Operations team is responsible for monitoring, deploying and securing products/services at rediff.com. As a Service Operations Engineer you will deploy, monitor and maintain the core infrastructure and services that power our customer facing products.

Service Operations Engineer

Mission :

At rediff.com, our Service Operations Engineers work on massive scalability and storage solutions, large-scale applications and latest technology platforms that are used by our developers. A Service Operations Engineers core responsibility is to keep our services available and reliable, ensuring our users have the most performant experience possible.

Responsibilities :

- Install new servers, configure equipment like storage & other system utilities.

- Monitor and troubleshoot our core services using in-house developed tools and standard Open Source utilities.

- Plan and execute production deployments of new and updated products and services.

- Meet the SLAs for availability, disaster recovery, backup, monitoring, security, and performance of our products and services.

- Provide Level 2 support and fulfillment of service requests, acting as the primary escalation point for the Service Desk and NOC.

- Participate actively in on-call rotations to support our data center infrastructure, which may include occasional after hours, weekends and national holiday shift work.

Qualifications :

- BE/B-Tech degree or equivalent practical experience.

- Understanding of primary distributed application and data center concepts.

- Advanced level Linux skills, including installation, systems administration and troubleshooting.

- Experience in diagnosing and resolving errors in complex massively distributed applications.

- Basic Networking knowledge, including topology and protocol understanding.

- Experience with IT Service Management and DevOps concepts and methodologies.

- Support experience with Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) applications.
