UX Designer

Rang De is a Bangalore based pioneering social initiative, operating with a single-minded mission to provide cost-effective credit to low income households in India. In simple terms, we are on a mission to eradicate this insidious evil in our society called poverty.

Since January 2008, Rang De has disbursed more than 50000 loans worth over Rs 26 crores across 14 states with the help of more than 9600 individuals across the world. We have a 99% repayment rate, and the technology is core to what we do at RangDe.

 

RangDe is embarking on a journey that will enable borrowers from under-served communities across India to directly apply and receive loans. We are building a robust loan processing system that is built on technology using IndiaStack, UPI and Machine Learning based credit scoring algorithms. Our team comprises of people who care deeply about equality and justice, and believes in the power of technology in enabling empowerment and grassroots led development in rural villages across India.

 

Rang De is looking for User Experience Professionals who can drive the design, and adoption of technology solutions in rural India.  You will be required to have an excellent grasp of technology, web & mobile based solutions. You should be able to have a good hold on human interactions, and must be open to experiment and learn from iterative design approaches. Since our solution will involve self-service kioska that will be placed in villages, we seek someone who can bring a strong focus on the end user interactions under conditions that will be relevant for our target users. Knowledge on hardware – software interactions will be an added plus. You will work closely with the Product & Engineering teams, and will be responsible for co-creating a seamless, easy to use , self-service product that will enable adoption of RangDe’s services in under-served rural communities.

 

<h4>As a UX Developer, your role will thus involve:</h4>
  • Collaborate with engineering teams on design & development integration
  • Deliver innovative, engaging prototypes using the latest in front-end technologies
  • Identify user requirements and translate it into design solutions
  • Create UX deliverables (wireframes, workflows, prototypes, etc.)
  • Test and iterate designs based on user feedback from the ground

 

What you will need to succeed

  • 5+ years of core UX work experience
  • Typically requires bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of usability, human factors, and the UX process
  • Understanding of XML, HTML, CSS, AJAX
  • Experience with wireframing & design tools.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Inclination to travel to rural India when needed
  • Prior experience in conducting user research & A/B testing approaches is a big plus.
