Backend Developer

Rang De is a Bangalore based pioneering social initiative, operating with a single-minded mission to provide cost-effective credit to low income households in India. In simple terms, we are on a mission to eradicate this insidious evil in our society called poverty.

RangDe is embarking on a journey that will enable borrowers from under-served communities across India to directly apply and receive loans. We are building a robust data driven lending platform that will leverage technologies like India Stack APIs (including eKYC and UPI) and Machine Learning based credit scoring algorithms. The platform will need to work at India scale and will need to support more than million transactions per day.

Our team comprises of people who care deeply about equality and justice, and believes in the power of technology in enabling empowerment and grassroots led development in rural villages across India.

Backend Developer

If you believe in using technology for social good and are a software engineer with at least 3 years of experience then apply for the position of a Developer at Rang De. You will be owning the design and development of the different modules that make up the above lending platform. You will work closely with the Tech lead and Tech Architect and the other developers in the team.

Desired Skills

• 3+ years of experience with Java/J2EE
• Strong problem-solving, analytical skills.
• Good understanding of OOP and Design Concepts.
• Good knowledge of RESTful API design.
• Knowledge of databases and data access frameworks like Hibernate etc.
• Sound Understanding of JVM details such as garbage collection, exception handling etc.
• Someone with good refactoring skills who always leaves the code behind in a better state than before
• Strong self-drive and curiosity to learn new things

Additional skills

• Proficient with linux
• Knowledge of deployment, build scripts and configuration
