Come Intern at Qubole

Qubole builds a Big-Data-as-a-Service product. Our customers are some of the largest web sites and advertising firms in the world. Our engineering work spans all the layers - roughly:

1. interactive browser based application with sophisticated UI components (HTML/JS/CSS/JQuery)
2. complex middleware to orchestrate big data applications (Ruby on Rails)
3. back-end components like Hadoop, Hive, Pig, Sqoop etc.  (Java)
4. cloud orchestration layers that allow us to convert different cloud platforms into a big-data platforms.  (Python)

We are looking for interns with strong background in computer science and programming to come work with us for a few months. You will be soaked in a fast paced startup environment, be working with one of the best engineering crews in this part of the world - and be grappling with so many technologies that will leave you breathless. We would love to get some fresh blood to help us tackle our work list - a pile that seems to grow unabated. Our perfect candidate loves programming (no matter what the problem domain is), is good at it and has great work ethics.

Intern projects are likely to span a mix of the functional areas outlined above - and there are development, testing, performance and dev/ops focused projects available. Individual internship projects will also be appropriately tailored for the candidate's interests. Aside from full-time internships - we also offer part-time internships (that can be done remotely - with some periodic synchronization) over longer time periods for local students. The period of the internship can vary anywhere starting from 2 months upto 8 months.

We usually only take interns who have gone through at least 3 years of course work prior to starting internships. We also welcome interns who are looking to do something interesting before taking up their first job.
