Help us build a next-generation media database with AI / Machine learning

Jona , Anywhere · jonapr.co · Short-term contract · Programming

We at Jona are on a mission to make PR affordable for startups and small businesses. We sell a curated list of journalists for 40+ categories and equal no. of countries. Such lists are used by small businesses, early-stage startups as well as by PR agencies to find relevant journalists, pitch their business, and get press coverage.

We are looking for a developer who can help us build a global database of journalists, 500k-1million journalists. Few examples: Muckrack, Prowly, Presshunt, Cision, Meltwater

All of the above databases cost upward of $300+/month, which makes it out of reach of pretty much all the indie makers, early-stage startups, and small businesses. We want to change that.

The immediate source to find journalists is Twitter - but it doesn't give all the info we need for each journalist like. So the developer must have the experience of building a journalist's profile using a few ways like Google search, diff APIs, Linkedin, etc.

Here is what we are looking to gather:

Journalist Name

Email address ( using Hunter/something else)

Media Outlet

Description

Author URL ( to collect articles written by him/her)

Twitter

Linkedin

City

CountryTags ( areas of interest)

The skillset we are looking at:

1. Ability to gather info like Email address, Author profile URL, City, Country, Description, etc

2. Ability to use APIs like Ahref, Listennotes, Hunter, etc.

3. Ability to build an algorithm and tag journalists based on the articles written, social bio, etc.

4. Proven experience in AI, Machine Learning, NLP, Search Index, etc.
