Software Engineer/Backend Developer

In this role you will be responsible for;

Developing products that account for the end to end solution of a function that is in line with the business objectives

Working closely with analysts and tech leads to elaborate requirements

Proactive collaboration in the project team to help develop the product through the whole development lifecycle

Ensuring governance requirements are captured, and audit requirements met. Demonstrating adherence to controls

Refactoring and continuous improvements of the code and processes is vital

Ensuring that risks are identified and mitigated or acknowledged as part of the agile development lifecycle

Contributing to the ongoing support of the digital apps and ecosystem

Keen to collaborate with others, and you’ll give thought about how software fits into the bigger picture

Qualifications

Experience and Qualifications

Possess strong technical knowledge in Network Security technologies (covering from endpoints, network, Web server, application server, database server, load balancer, Web Application Firewall, Intrusion Detection/Prevention System and authentication services)

Experience of API and service based architectures using SOAP, REST APIs, micro-services and utilizing JSON for web or mobile applications

Programming Languages:

Strong knowledge of backend and ability to architecture scalable solutions

B/E Languages: Python, Django, C#, Java, JavaScript frameworks (e.g. Node.js Python, Node js Ruby on Rails) Bootstrap, CSS, Ajax, PHP, .NET, Flutter.  

Databases: SQL, No SQL, MySQL, Postgresql, MongoDB, GRAPH QL & Complex data modeling

Networks :

Telephony TCP IP, & Protocols

Operating Systems, Databases – Windows, Linux, Ubuntu, Mac OS.

Cloud Platform: AWS, Azure & Google Cloud

App Platform : Android, IOS .

CI/CD tools - Confluence, Jira, Jenkins, GIT, GitHub, SonarQube, Checkmarks

PaaS/IaaS – Open Shift, Pivotal Cloud Foundry, AWS, Azure & Cloud bees

DevOps processes and experience

Agile methodologies – Scrum, Kanban, XP

Good to Have

Awareness of cross-browser/device “responsive” development

Exposure to Containers (Dockers / Kubernetes)

Understanding of lean and agile methods of software delivery and the principles and practices of BDD, ATDD and TDD

*Willing to Work with a Startup on Bootstrap.
