Lead Systems engineer

The ideal Lead engineer will have at least 1 year of experience with items 1 through 13. Item 14 is an indication of a high quality experienced Systems Engineer. We are looking for Systems Engineers that are frustrated that they are not being given more leadership responsibilities or not being given freedom to operate in their companies. One good criterion to screen for is their propensity to get certified – MCSE, CCNA, AWS SysOps Admin etc.

1.  Experience with managing equipment such a laptops, macbooks, servers, racks, UPS, switches, routers, wireless devices and networks 2.  Experience with configuring, maintaining, optimizing and troubleshooting networks, VPNs, routers and switches 3.  Experience with Security Management including Anti-Virus, Identity and Access Management, PKI certificates and encryption 4.  Experience with Identity Management Providers including Active Directory, Kerberos and LDAP 5.  Experience with maintaining, patching, securing and configuring Windows servers, linux servers and cloud servers 6.  Experience with configuring, maintaining and troubleshooting Dialer and Voice networks 7.  Experience with ITIL Processes such as Incident Management, Service Request Management, Asset Management, Configuration Management and Inventory Management 8.  Experience with maintaining, patching, and upgrading a wide range of web and application servers such as tomcat, IIS, apache etc.
9.  Experience with database, O/S and system backup and recovery procedures and protocols 10.  Experience with Capacity Planning 11. Experience working in a Network Operations Center/Security Operations Centers/Services Helpdesk environment for small to mid-sized company 12. Experience with maintaining enterprise services and tools such as email, development tools, databases and knowledge-bases 13. Experience with scripting languages such as Linux shells and Powershell 14. Experience configuring ad-hoc networks on the cloud on AWS, Azure or any other cloud provider
