Javascript Developer

We are looking for a Javascript developer to join our Virtual Training team for a period of 4 months. The consultant should be available to start as soon as possible, until August 2021 at the least. 

Engagement Type: Full Time - Remote Working

Experience: 2-4 years experienced with various JS libraries and frameworks. We would be building on a library called InkJS. Prior experience in the library is not required, but should be open to rapidly learning and building on the framework. 

Compensation Range: Between 70000 - 140000 per month.

About Us

We (Ooloi Labs: ooloilabs.in) are a social enterprise building a product and providing services that are focused on helping social impact organisations and programs scale their work. We have two key verticals, the ‘Open Knowledge Engine’ is a product that helps to unlock, record and share tacit knowledge, and the other ‘Virtual Training’ that helps our partners create engaging, learner centric learning experiences. As a team, we work at the intersection of designing and building technology, human-centred design and focus on operational and program needs. Previous to building Ooloi Labs, we have consulted across a variety of sectors including education, livelihood, WASH, maternal and reproductive health, mental health and financial inclusion.

Your Role

We are about to start a project to build an engaging learning experience for adolescents across the country. The experience is highly dynamic and narrative based. We are building a contained digital product that would run in mobile browsers. The narrative will be laid out, choices, scenes etc using an open source markup tool called ‘Inky’ which has the ability to export a basic website with this choice based narrative [Ink Website].  This website code can be extended using the InkJS library, and that’s where your role will come in, to add layers of complexity in terms of graphics, visuals and sounds, as well as interactivity for mechanics of the narrative as well as interface, as designed by the team.

The Virtual Training team comprises of content writers, designers, researchers and illustrators, and thus the role would require you to join this team to bring the concept, material and assets to life through the digital product.

Ooloi Labs also has a product called the ‘Open Knowledge Engine’ that is developed by an inhouse product team comprising of front end and back end developers besides UX/UI designers. This team would be available for support, but the responsibility to develop would be on the selected consultant.
