Backend Engineer

What we are looking for

1K is looking for a full time backend engineer to join our growing technology team. In this role you will use your extensive knowledge of object oriented programming, design patterns, system integrations, cloud infrastructure knowledge, and other tech stack you are familiar with to build and improve our systems that will be harnessing the unexplored ecosystem in India.

You'll get to choose what to work on, design a framework, iterate, review, and ship things that can improve the experience of our kirana entrepreneurs, customers and our super efficient operational workforce .

Responsibilities

- We want our team members to be independent thinkers who understand priorities of a rapidly growing startup and excel at choosing high impact projects.

- Familiarize with our Tech Stack mainly Laravel (PHP), NextJS, Nginx, Mysql, AWS, Electron, Kotlin, Java.

- Brainstorm (sometimes, even prototype) features with rest of team based on your knowledge of the codebase.

- And of course, there's always bugs to fix, based on your personal experience or feedback from the team and the 1K community.

About 1K

We are building India’s first network of small format stores (kiranas) for smaller towns through an integrated offline-online immersive experiential model. We plan to build on the entrepreneurial spirit and underutilized real estate pockets hiding in India’s smaller towns, a territory which is still unexplored, unorganized and the scale of which is much bigger than what any of the unicorns in India have experienced till now.
