What you will do at NextOrbit: 

  • Take a first principles view of problems - so necessary to disrupt the industry
  • Align software engineering principles to domain specific design
  • Take complete responsibility of the distributed cloud infrastructure, scaling and the architecture
  • Coordinate with the data sciences team to understand the product and data requirements
  • Collaborating with domain experts, UX/UI and data sciences team to enhance product features
  • Play a key role in product development life cycle
  • Perform large scale automation
  • Identify and incorporate new development frameworks, tools, and techniques
  • Help in shaping NextOrbit’s perspectives, work culture, and opinions

 

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 4 years of work experience, preferably in product development
  • Hands on expertise with designing and implementing microservices based web applications
  • Good understanding of distributed cloud infrastructure and architecture
  • Good knowledge of distributed version control system (Git/Mercurial), distributed systems and REST based web services
  • Good understanding of object oriented programming and design concepts
  • Excellent at data structures, algorithms and data modeling
  • Excellent at Unix like operating systems and task automation
  • Willingness to learn new things and hunger for continued excellence
  • Comfortable and adept at dealing with ambiguity/change (new frameworks or language), and ability to comprehend and accomplish a given task efficiently
  • Needs to be self-driven & immensely enthusiastic
  • Needs to have the “start-up” itch attitude - the desire to create, own and be a part of a great growth story

Nice to have: 

  • Hands on experience with continuous integration frameworks
  • Hands on and good understanding of NoSQL databases – key- value, document, column family, and graph databases
