Data science intern

NextElection is a suite of products for civic democracy, governance and politicking. We deal with large amounts of geo-political data across multiple countries and are looking for an intern to join us. You should apply only if you interested in this field of work and research. In other words, you should have a working knowledge of what kinds of data is required in this domain, what are the sources of data etc.

Your work will directly impact people worldwide.

1. Essential skills are - working knowledge of python/django, databases, APIs, and decent programming ability. Can set up a fully working environment of django, db, postman etc without help.
2. Essential traits are - self driven & curiosity. This is non negotiable. We dont have the time to micro manage, or follow up. You will work remotely, and have to relentless drive yourself and complete tasks.
3. Optional skills are - ability to set up 1 or more test servers on AWS, pythonanywhere, home server or equivalent. Understansing of geo data, mapping etc.
4. Optional traits are - ability to look at the big picture and suggest what more can be done

Please note that we will offer mentorship and guidance as required, but the drive and energy has to be self produced.
