Fundraising and Membership Development Associate

The ideal candidate will be a person with passion and optimism. We do all our work with a high level of personal discipline and sound judgement. We are looking to hire a person holding a graduate/post graduate degree in marketing, business administration with a keen interest in fundraising for the not-for-profit sector from individuals as well as assist with institutional supporters and large gifts where it aligns with our mission and philosophy. Professional degrees are secondary however to initiative and capability towards fundraising, marketing, and sales skills. Formal qualifications and prior experience are desired but are not disqualifications. Previous experience with budget management tools, CRMs, and email marketing tools are a strong plus. The associate will be expected to manage relationships with high level donors in coordination with the Executive Director, other IFF staff and counsel, and our Board of Trustees, and possess excellent written and oral communication skills.  The right candidate will be highly adaptable as we work with the energy of a passionate start-up which requires willingness to do work from managerial to execution oriented roles. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute fundraising strategies that tie in with IFF’s program work
  • Creatively explore and expand relationships and partnerships that help in executing and supplementing IFF’s fundraising goals. 
  • Ensure implementation of a strategic plan for advancing the organizational donor development program; identifying additional high-volume income streams and revenue growth.
  • Monitor, analyze and optimize plans and strategies to achieve defined goals; assign and monitor metrics for fundraising campaigns and monitor performance.
  • Plan and budget for charitable income and other organisational mission-linked revenue by working closely with the Executive Director.
  • Develop and implement innovative and effective monitoring and evaluation systems to track fundraising progress in real-time.
  • Maintain portfolios of categorised donors including potential donor identification and fundraising and communication strategies.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts of online digital rights through  comprehensive briefs & insights based on IFF’s work to potential funders and donors.
  • Prepare pitch decks, carry out donor outreach with individuals, HNIs and Corporate Donors. 
  • Collaborate with staff in preparing fellowship and fundraising proposals, budgets and partnership pitches. 
  • Assist with our community and supporting communications; integrate and create regular donor and member communications including quarterly calls, our newsletter, and social media calls for support.
