DevOps: Platform and SRE

BACKGROUND

ICICI Securities Ltd. is a veteran in the financial markets industry. We are seeking modern DevSecOps professionals to join our New Solutions Group. New Solutions Group is a team of cutting-edge software engineers and leaders working with the latest technologies to deliver the next generation of fintech products.

WHAT WE DO

• Work remotely with an option to work from an office if that suits better.

• Continuously strive towards enhancement of key Software Delivery metrics, such as:

• Shorter Change Lead Time

• Higher Deployment Frequency

• Shorter Mean Time To Restore

• Smaller Change Fail Percentage

• Implement the above using a gamut of the following:

• Version control with Trunk based development

• Continuous integration, testing and delivery

• Deployment automation

• Following security best practices in an integrated fashion

• Monitoring, alerting and observability

• Centralised log aggregation and management

• Proactive failure notification

• Highly encourage a learning culture to harness the best available technologies, and push them to their limits in pursuit of our delivery goals. There is a lot to learn and we work continuously towards individual skill development, together.

This is a green-field project (so experimentation and new ideas are most welcome) that, we hope, is poised to have a large and lasting industry-wide impact.

EXPECTATION FROM CANDIDATES

We expect a suitable candidate to have 5+ years of total software engineering experience, including at least 2+ years of DevOps specific experience - both platform engineering and SRE, especially in the following technologies:

• Strong familiarity with AWS, especially IAM, EKS, API Gateway

• Strong familiarity with Kubernetes, with Helm, kubectl and kustomize

• Docker and related technologies

• IaC tools like Terraform or Pulumi, for deployment automation.

• CI/CD tools like AWS CodePipeline, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, BuildKite, ArgoCD, Jenkins, etc.

• Monitoring, alerting and observability tooling, such as, Prometheus, Thanos, Graphana and Loki

• Strong fundamentals around software engineering best practices, such as, version control, well-structured source code, continuous refactoring, code pairing (we love to code together but only when necessary), code reviews, using the best tools for a given job, effective collaboration and clear communication.
