Role & Responsibilities

As a Senior Test Engineer, you are primarily responsible for functional and nonfunctional testing of the HeroTalkies Set Top Box (STB). In addition to the STB, you will also support functional testing of applications across all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) for HeroTalkies in platforms such as Web, iOS, Android, Smart TV, Fire TV, Roku, etc.

Other responsibilities include

• Translating functional and feature requirements from product owners into documented and approved Test Case Specifications and Execution Plans
• Creating and managing requirement matrices to track progress of the test life cycle
• Working with automation engineers to identify test scripts that can be automated
• Setting up defined test procedures and the tools to produce accompanying documentation
• Executing Test Plans, cases and steps, for each core module
• Liaising with the multi-device engineering team on defect resolution
• Training other team members on the tools available
• Offering the Test Manager with technical expertise to assist in test planning

Requirements:

• 6-8 years of proven experience in Set Top Box testing
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent
• Ability to write and execute QA test plans for web and mobile applications
• Demonstrable experience in all stages of the testing lifecycle including test planning, strategization, script execution and reporting.
• Working knowledge of JIRA necessary
• Hands-on experience with White Box Testing
• Experience in System Integration Testing, User Acceptance Testing is a must
• Experience in testing Smart TV applications is an added advantage
