Android/iOS Developer Internship

Hello!

We are HasGeek, the folks behind this job board. We are looking for interns to work with Karthik, Shreyas, and Vidya to help build one (or more) mobile apps that serve as a second screen experience for our event attendees, as well as provide a meaningful platform to engage with them throughout the year.

As a second screen experience, think:

• Contact exchanges
• Bluetooth beacons to enrich spaces inside the event
• Live streams for people not at the venue
• Audience feedback
• Engaging with speakers/notable attendees

As an engagement platform, think:

• Provide a meaningful discussion space around a technology/domain
• Jobs (from Hasjob and other sources)
• Reports/News: Such as industry trends, new developments, etc
• Referrals to partner events, workshops, hackathons

These aren't concrete ideas - we are still experimenting - but it's very early stages in development and you have a chance to contribute and shape how this turns out.

Ofcourse, it would be ideal if you have some experience in Android or iOS development, but it absolutely isn't mandatory. If you think you are capable of picking it up quickly, that would do just as well. Karthik is our resident Android guy - you'll be working with him.

On Android, we are building it using all the new, fancy stuff - RxJava, Kotlin, Realm, etc - we are learning these frameworks and paradigms as we go along, so you have a great opportunity to pick up these skills as well.

On iOS, we haven't even started.

All of HasGeek's code is 100% open source - we strive to be an open and transparent company. We believe that our codebase is just a tool and not the reason our business works. We also believe that employees should have something to show for their time here, so anything you work on while at HasGeek can be used by you to get your next job.
