Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Product Manager with a strong background in software development within the utility domain. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience in managing software products, particularly leveraging technologies like .NET and Python. The role demands a deep understanding of the utility industry, including energy management, billing systems, grid modernization, and smart metering solutions.
The Product Manager will be responsible for the end-to-end product lifecycle, from ideation to execution, working closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, design, business, and stakeholders to deliver cutting-edge solutions that align with business and customer needs. This role is specifically for Exceleron Software's Bangalore office, offering a dynamic environment to work on innovative solutions in the utility domain.
Key Responsibilities:
Product Strategy & Roadmap:

Develop and define product vision, roadmap, and strategy aligned with business goals.

Identify opportunities for innovation and improvement in software solutions for the utility sector.

Conduct competitive analysis and market research to understand industry trends and customer needs.
Product Development & Management:

Collaborate with engineering teams to design, develop, and deploy scalable software solutions in .NET and Python.

Work with databases such as Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle to ensure efficient data management and integration.
-
Prioritize product features and enhancements based on business impact and customer requirements.

Drive agile development processes, ensuring timely releases and high-quality deliverables.

Ensure adherence to industry standards, compliance, and security regulations.
Stakeholder Management & Communication:

Act as the primary liaison between business, customers, and engineering teams.

Work closely with executives, product owners, and developers to ensure alignment.

Translate business needs into detailed technical requirements and user stories.

Present updates to senior leadership and stakeholders on product performance and strategy.
Technical Expertise & Industry Knowledge:

Strong understanding of utility sector challenges, including grid management, smart metering, demand response, and regulatory compliance.

Hands-on experience with .NET and Python development.

Familiarity with databases like Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle.

Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and microservices architecture.

Knowledge of data analytics, AI/ML applications, and IoT solutions in the utility industry.
Customer-Centric Approach:

Engage with customers and end-users to gather feedback and improve product offerings.

Define and monitor KPIs, user adoption rates, and performance metrics.

Ensure a superior user experience (UX/UI) and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required:

10+ years of experience in product management, specifically in software development for the utility domain.

Strong knowledge of .NET and Python.

Experience working with databases like Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle.

Proven track record of delivering enterprise-level software products.
-
Experience with Agile, Scrum, and Kanban methodologies.

Expertise in requirement gathering, roadmap planning, and backlog management.

Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and leadership skills.

Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
Preferred:

Experience working with utility companies, energy providers, or grid operators.

Knowledge of IoT, AI/ML, and big data analytics.

Familiarity with APIs, cloud computing, and DevOps tools.
-
PMP, CSPO, or SAFe certification is a plus.
