If you're interested in contributing to standard development processes at the IETF, there is a position available at the Centre for Internet & Society (CIS).
You should have a technical understanding of communication protocols, and a basic understanding of cryptography . People with a CS degree are preferred.
Hopefully, you're someone interested in understanding how protocols and standards can be improved in terms of reliability, privacy and security. You will understand how protocols and technical standards can impact human rights (negatively or positively).
