Business Development Executive for Music Tech Startup

We provide background music solution for restaurants, pubs and bars and a jukebox app for their customers. We use a combination of cloud and local storage to provide a seamless music experience at these venues. We also allow customers at these venues to play their favorite song via the BCJukebox app. We are making venue owners re-imagine how they can play music at their restaurant and leave the old system of CDs!!!

The company was founded in 2014 by IIT Bombay graduates and raised funding from Mr. Raamdeo Agrawal(MD Motilal Oswal Financial Services Ltd). We launched our product in March of 2015 and are now serving more than 500 venues across 7 cities in India. We have a strength of 30 people across India with 8 people in our sales team.

Use of a technology product that too with a SaaS type model is fairly new to the hospitality sector, all legacy softwares like POS and billing are based on a license+AMC model, whereas we work on a monthly subscription model. With this product, we are creating a new market of technology/software products for the hospitality sector.

The profile for the Business Development Executive is as follows:

● Prospect a client using cold calling - discover all the decision makers involved for a deal

● Meet these decision makers and pitch our product

● Convince decision makers for a 7 day trial of our product

● Close the deal and get revenue

● Maintain, categorize and update client database

● Work with the Sales team to improve the sales pitch for different target groups

● Maintain an active Objection Management Sheet

Key Performance Metrics that we measure:

● Trials setup - we have a minimum quota of 4 trials a week

● Monthly Revenue targets - incentives are based on the revenue you get

Compensation:

Fixed Component of Salary: 4.15 lakh CTC Per Annum Variable component/Sales Incentives - Minimum is 10,000 per month, goes as high as 75,000 per month for our top performer.
