Music Enthusiast and a front end developer

Be the Change is a young startup that is part of the growing Powai startup culture. We are building digital jukeboxes for social venues, bars, pubs, etc. We are working towards ensuring the music at the venues is crowd sourced because it’s about time people control the music.

About the position

 As among the first members of the front-end engineering team, you’ll be given the freedom and responsibility to create and implement strategy and product. Contribute to our stack with the most creative, impactful and scalable technologies on the web and native. You’ll translate the passion for beauty on the web that runs through your veins into immersive experiences ahead of the curve. Knowledge of music technology is not required, but is a plus.

 Understanding of layout aesthetics and a rigor for programming are prerequisites, with expertise in user interface (UI) know-how with CSS(SCSS knowledge is a plus), JavaScript, HTML and Angulas JS.

 This would require basic web development skills for our single page app written in angular. This app has dynamic design components as well which is why a level of comfort with CSS/SCSS will be preferred.

 In addition, an understanding of the entire web development process, including design, development and deployment, with some back-end knowledge, is a must.

What We Want From You:

• Develop functional and appealing web applications based on usability
• Use a combination of markup languages to write web pages
• Create quality mock-ups and prototypes on tight timelines
• Assist back-end developers in coding and troubleshooting
• Create cascading style sheets (CSS) that are consistent across all browsers and platforms
• Maintain graphic standards and branding throughout the product's interface
• Provide website maintenance and enhancements
• Stay up-to-date on emerging technologies
• Promote usability best practices
