About the Audio Tools Developer role:

The Audio Tools Engineering group at Audience is a fast moving, entrepreneurial team that develops cross-platform tools to enable our engineering and integration teams, as well as those of our customers. As an Audio Tools Developer, you will work on tools to enable these engineers to develop, debug, design, integrate, configure and customize our entire solution. You will contribute towards both application and framework code, that enable inspection, configuration and customization of all elements of the product architecture, from DSP and machine learning algorithms, Digital VLSI, Analog VLSI, Evaluation Hardware, Firmware, Host Software and Middleware. Our code base is cross-platform and is evolving into a mix of C / C++ and script code. The tool components live on desktop, and small portions on Android. As the company evolves to support our sensor products, developing our tool solutions also involves a willingness to understand other embedded platforms and host devices for IoT.

About You:

You should be fluent with C and C++, and comfortable with integrating native code with scripting engines like Python, Javascript or Lua.  You have a resourceful / entrepreneurial mindset, and are not afraid to modify and integrate available open-source components to accelerate the development of your features. You are comfortable working with very heteregenous technical components, and not afraid to step-through code not developed by you. You enjoy working on developing tools that empower other engineers. Above all, you are highly customer focused and pragmatic. Knowledge of embedded development, DSP, and an interest in audio/sensor processing and hardware is desirable but not required.

About Audience:

In the late 90s, a group of pioneers continued their work at Caltech with neuromorphic engineering legend Carver Mead, and founded companies that were well ahead of their times. These included biologically inspired low-power analog VLSI designs that could be implanted into the human body, like cochlear implants. It was in this tradition that Lloyd Watts founded Audience in the year 2000.

Today, Audience is the leader in Advanced Voice and a pioneer in Multisensory processing and natural user experience technology for consumer devices. Its Advanced Voice technologies, based in auditory neuroscience, improve the mobile voice experience, as well as enhance speech-based services and audio quality for multimedia. In 2014, the Company announced its expansion into multisensory and motion processing with the launch of the MQ100 product, and with the signing of a definitive agreement to acquire Sensor Platforms. Through the combination of Advanced Voice and Multisensory Processing, Audience aims to transform the way consumers engage with devices by enabling seamless natural user experiences and context-aware services. - See more at: http://audience.com/audience-about#sthash.OInTXCUA.dpuf
