How will you help us drive the change?
Artoo is developing a mobile and cloud platform that leverages the power of big data for financial institutions who serve small businesses.
We are a team of dynamic millennial geeks who are turned on by creating technology that is so intuitive that even field agents with limited tech-savvy and literacy thoroughly enjoy using it. So as an engineer at Artoo, you will spend a lot of time engineering solutions for field agents and borrowers because that is the lifeblood of our work.

Who are we looking at?
We’re excited to work with someone who is already familiar with the Android space. Typically, you may find yourself committing code on day 1, and this should entice you. You should know the base set of tools of the trade and be able to use them quickly without cutting people nearby. You bring with you the domain knowledge and we’ll help you put that in perspective.

As the Lead Android Engineer for our mobile platform, you will need to:
- Manage, mentor and lead a team of Android Engineers
- Review code for cleanliness in implementation with a view on architecture,
security and future proofing
- Drive quality initiatives through adoption of best in class tools and processes for unit tests, monitoring analytics frameworks (eg: Mixpanel) for feedback etc.
- Define the flows of the product by looking at product documents, perform rapid prototyping
- Improve the performance of our apps using Android NDK, DDMS tools, unit testing.
- Improve our framework with a focus on developer productivity and keeping the app forward & backward compatible.
- Deep embedding of Artoo’s Big Data solution
- Use design thinking and improve the User Experience, not just the User Interface
- Be a part of the Android recruiting panel and set a high bar for incoming employees
- Onboard new Android devs and conduct Internal trainings & upskilling for Android Engineers
- Report periodic benchmarks - such as crashes, performance, user behaviour, usage metrics
- Enhance the apps and framework we have written over the Android SDK and open it to external developers
- Contribute to Open Source
