UX Designer

Responsibilities

• Take ownership and lead the UI and UX design, bringing to life the customer experience and the business vision/mission.
• Create the best version of the product with the time/resources and iterate on designs to help ensure we are solving problems, using the best solutions.
• Use and build the existing design system, identify and improve design components in a reusable manner, validate design solutions, produce high-fidelity designs - you will own product/feature design.
• Working closely with the CTO and tech team, communicating your ideas and progress to relevant stakeholders.
• Bring designs to life by translating designs in working HTML/CSS code. (Good to have)
• Work with the tech team to enhance the UI elements component library to match a desired design system.
• Help create a culture of design thinking, valuing a human centered approach that integrates the needs of the customers and the business.
• Take feedback from the in-house app developers and repurpose it as a design challenge. Articulate the challenge. Create a story/narrative with authority.
• Take educational courses that align with business needs. You will be encouraged to do this and will be supported by management.
• Representing Appivo at in-house tech talks and external design events
• Be flexible, communicative and proactive whilst balancing between work-from-home and an office (when it's safe to return).

Requirements

• A passion for creating products people love; caring about product performance is key.
• 3+ years experience designing products.
• Preferably, some B2B product design experience and a portfolio (Behance, website, medium, etc) is a must.
• Good knowledge of CSS3/HTML5 and basic knowledge of Javascript. Ability to convert designs into working UI is an advantage.
• A person who takes initiative and sets self goals. You will have flexibility and full support from management. 
• The communication skills to clearly articulate your concepts and how they solve the problem at hand.
• An appreciation and understanding of web development principles to arrive at informed design decisions. 
• Have experience and a portfolio demonstrating strong design sensibilities and potential for converting the designs into working UI. 
• Excellent time-management, multi-tasking, and communication skills; and the ability to quickly prioritize tasks.
• Experience with tools and methods that help you move forward quicker, faster and with confidence.
• Having a human focused approach to building technology products, balancing the customer needs and business requirements.
