Back-end Developer

What you will be doing:

The job involves the following responsibilities:

• Build robust and scalable software in Ruby, Node, and/or Java
• Design and create services and system architecture for your projects, and contribute and provide feedback to other team members
• Integrate multiple 3rd party APIs into existing application
• Help improve our code quality through writing unit tests, automation and performing code reviews
• Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute ideas to our technology  and products
• Work with the product and design teams to understand end-user requirements, formulate use cases, and then translate that into a pragmatic and effective technical solution
• Dive into difficult problems and successfully deliver results on schedule

What we are looking for in you:

• Development with any object oriented language.
• Strong understanding of web standards, back-end web programming, and modern server-side engineering.
• Good understanding of data structures and algorithms.
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
• Basic sysadmin work (monitoring changes via 'tail' and 'watch', determining server health with 'top' , creating symlinks, restarting services, etc.).
• MySQL or any other RDMS.

Good to have:

• Good SQL skills.
• Experience of importing and manipulating data with SQL scripts.
• Good operational knowledge on Unix (Linux).
• Experience with database optimization.
• Restful API.
• Background processing.
• Git.
